Maria Sibylla MERIAN

She was one of the most important artists and naturalists of the 17th and early 18th centuries and lived an unusually self-determined and unconventional life for her time. On the occasion of the 375th birthday of Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717), the Kulturinitiative Gmünd, in cooperation with the Kunstkabinett Strehler, Stuttgart, and the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, will present a world-class artist for the first time in a solo show at the Stadtturmgalerie Gmünd from 7 May to 2 October 2022.
