You can find our Gasthof Prunner with its cosy rooms and the Slow Food Restaurant at Hauptplatz 15 next to the lower town gate. You can also orientate yourself by using the town’s tower, as this is right next door. From here, the world is your oyster – spend a relaxing day in the artists’ town of Gmünd, or discover the surrounding area.

The Prunner Apartments, Pongratzen Vorstadt 16/3, are located around a 3-minute walk away from the Gasthof Prunner. In a quiet, but central location you can make your way into the artists’ town without a car from here. If you’ve planned a trip to the mountains or to the lake, you’re equally untied and can access the motorway in just a few minutes.

How to find us
Arrival by car & motorcycle
Coming from Munich-Salzburg or Klagenfurt-Villach on the A10 Tauern Motorway, take exit 130 for Gmünd. The Trefflinger Landesstraße, the Maltatal Landesstraße and the Untere Vorstadt, will take you directly to the centre of Gmünd. You’ll find the Gasthof Prunner right next to the town tower. You’ll find the Prunner Apartment House just outside the centre of town.
Important information about parking:
Public parking at the main square: free short-term parking zone at the main square (marked blue) – valid from Monday to Friday from 8am – 12pm and from 2pm – 6pm as well as Saturday from 8am – 12pm with parking disk for 90 minutes.
For motorcyclists: The short-term parking zone is not valid for motorcyclists.
Private car park at the Prunner Apartment House: Right in front of the Prunner Apartment House – Pongratzen Vorstadt 16 – is a free and private car park. The walking time to the main square is approximately 3 minutes from here.
Parking at Gasthof Prunner
To ensure a smooth journey, we recommend that you park directly in front of the Gasthof Prunner or in the public short-term parking zones in the town of Gmünd. The zones – for example on the main square – are marked in blue and allow free parking with a parking disk at the following times:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 – 18:00
- Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- The maximum parking time is 90 minutes. Motorcycles are exempt from this regulation.
- Overnight parking on the main square (outside the short-term parking times) is possible without restriction, provided a parking space is free.
Then come to check-in at your leisure. If you arrive outside the official parking times or do not have a parking meter to hand, we will be happy to provide you with an information card that you can place behind the windshield so that it is clearly visible.
After unloading your luggage, you can then park your vehicle conveniently and for the entire duration of your stay in our free private parking lot at Appartementhaus Prunner – Pongratzen Vorstadt 16, Pongratzen Vorstadt 16/3, 9853 Gmünd in Carinthia – about a three-minute walk from the inn.
A nice side effect: On the way back to Gasthof Prunner, you can enjoy your first little exploration tour via the Hintere Gasse of Gmünd’s old town, past the Haus des Staunens back to the main square.
